Orange County Head Start Hosts Literacy Month

APRIL 3 - APRIL 28, 2023 | 9:00AM - 11:00AM AND 2:15PM AND 4:30PM

The best thing we can do to ensure that children grow up reading well and loving to read is to read to them every day. The time spent reading together creates a special bond.

This year Callahan Head Start celebrates inviting the community to read to young children eager to go on a journey through stories. For the month, between the hours of 9:00am and 11:00am, and 2:15pm and 4:30pm a multiplicity of caring citizens, community partners, parents and others are expected to converge upon each of the 3 Head Start classrooms to participate in this momentous event. I would love for you and/or your team to be a part of the great celebration this year!

Guest Readers are asked to bring a book of their choosing or have one selected for them to read. All books should be appropriate for children ages 3 to 5 years. The themes for the month are “Spring Is Here, Our Environment, Feelings, Nutrition, Health, Dental, Fun and Silly, Rhyming Words”.

I look forward to meeting and working with you. If you would like to participate here at the Callahan Head Start center, please contact Toinett Stenson, Principal. Please email or call to sign up.
