PEID's STEM Discovery Day

On Friday, May 20, 2022, the Parramore Education & Innovation District hosted the first STEM Discovery Day on the UCF/Valencia Downtown campus.

Over 150 Parramore students and families attended the event, where they experienced demonstrations and hands-on activities from 20 local science, technology, engineering, math, and arts organizations. In the main exhibition hall, there was something for everyone, including VR headsets, competition-grade robots, 3-D printing, botany and seed planting, math games and puzzles, architectural challenges, coding, and sensory experiments for even our smallest scientists.

The storms held off outside long enough for a drone demonstration, courtesy of UCF engineering students. Visitors were also treated to tours of the CREATE lab, where they experienced the intersection of science and artistic creativity.

The PEID team thanks all of our staff and volunteers who helped make the event possible, all of our amazing exhibitors who shared their time and knowledge with visitors, and the many groups and families who came out to learn with us on a Friday afternoon.
